who we are
- an opportunity to disconnect from an overly connected world
- a chance to try something new
- a love for pipe smoking
Hand carving tobacco pipes allows me to accomplish all three of these things at once. I have always loved the enjoyment that comes from smoking a pipe. Getting a pipe lit is no simple task when you're first starting out. It forces you to disconnect your mind from jumbled thoughts and provides you with a singular focus. Something that I value quite a bit.
When I moved to Atlanta in the summer of 2015, I was annoyed that I allowed my free time to be filled with mindless web browsing. I wanted to do something new, and I wanted a challenge. So, I set out to make my own tobacco pipe.
After reading lots of blogs, books, and talking to pipe crafters themselves, I had successfully created my first pipe! And that's the only one I've kept. I've made others, but I've chosen to sell or give them away, because I want others to experience the calm and reflection that accompanies smoking a pipe.
This company is a testament to the fact that setting your mind to something is a majority of the battle in accomplishing a task. If I can create a pipe (with zero previous woodworking experience), I know you have the ability to accomplish your goals as well.
